Special Needs Planning

MetDESK® was founded in 1998 and is one of the first programs of its kind in the financial services industry. Since inception, the program has developed strategic partnerships with five leading advocacy groups: Autism Society of America; The country's largest volunteer-based organization devoted to issues affecting people with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities; SNAP (Special Needs Advocate for Parents); NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders); and National Down Syndrome Society.

How can a MetDESK Specialist help you?

MetDESK® specialists receive extensive training to help them keep pace with the constant changes in federal and state government benefits laws, future trends in special needs planning, and innovations in planning techniques. A MetDESK® Specialist can help navigate through the complicated process of planning for the future of their child or dependent with special needs. This planning process includes:

  • Preserving government benefit eligibility.
  • Meeting long-term care needs (Legal & Financial).
  • Structuring a plan to provide cash when it's needed most.
  • Help with referral to resources to help with educational, medical or advocacy issues.

We have several representatives that have completed the comprehensive training program hosted by MetDESK®, MetLife's Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids. The training provides the necessary skills to help families with children or dependents with special needs develop customized financial solutions.
